Sponsored Programs
Kiwanis Clubs sponsor Kiwanis-family organizations that provide young people and adults with opportunities to perform community service and develop leadership skills.
Young Children: Priority One
Focusing on the needs of young children, such as:
- Maternal and child health
- Child care and development
- Parent education and support
- Safety and pediatric trauma
Young Children: Priority One is a continuing program support by Kiwanis International and thousands of clubs around the world. Clubs are urged to identify the greatest needs of young children in their communities and develop projects that meet those needs.
Worldwide Service Project
The Kiwanis-family initiative to virtually eliminate the world's leading cause of preventable mental retardation, iodine deficiency disorders (IDD), is a partnership with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). With more than 1.5 billion people worldwide at risk of IDD, Kiwanians, young and old, are raising US $75 million to precent the devasting effects and allow future generations around the world the chance to realize their full physical and mental potential.
